How do I register as a family member or friend ?

In order to register as a family member or friend, you will first need to be invited to join the team of a child by the Team Organiser of that child. When a Team Organiser invites you to join the team, you will receive an email invitation from Dalza at the email address given by the Team Organiser. All you need to do is click on the link in the email invitation and follow the registration steps from there.

[The Team Organiser is the parent (or legal guardian) that registered the child and manages the Child Space on Dalza. The Child Space is the area on the Dalza platform dedicated to the child in question and containing the information relating to the child).]

Can I be registered on Dalza in various roles at the same time, for example as a parent (or Team Organiser), specialist, teacher, family and friend ?

Yes, you can.

This means that you can register your own child on Dalza and be a Team Organiser for your child, and you can also be a member of the teams of one or more children as either a specialist or teacher, or a family member or friend.  You can therefore perform a different role in each team that you are a part of.

But you can only perform one role on each child’s team. For example, you cannot be a Team Organiser and also a specialist or teacher on the same child’s team.

How do I remove my name from Dalza’s public list of specialists and teachers?

You can do this at any time by logging in to your account in Dalza and then changing this in your account settings.

Remember that we will never add you to our public list of specialists and teachers unless you expressly agree to this first – either when you registered or if you elect to do this through your account settings.

Adding and removing people from a child's team

How do I invite people to join my child’s team?

Adding team members to your child’s team is quick and easy.  The Team Organiser is responsible for adding team members to the child’s team.

The Team Organiser can add team members both during and after the process of registering the child and creating their account.

During the registration process, the Team Organiser will reach a step where the Team Organiser can invite people to join the child’s team.  The Team Organiser will be able to invite anybody they wish – including teachers, therapists, specialists, friends and family.  If the person being invited is a specialist or teacher that is already registered on Dalza and has agreed to make their details public on Dalza’s database, the Team Organiser will be able to search for their name and then ‘select’ them to receive an invitation. If the person being invited is not on our database or is a family or friend, the Team Organiser will be able to invite them by providing their email address and requesting that they be invited.

After the registration process is completed, the Team Organiser can also invite team members in various ways. The Team Organiser should log into their Dalza account and then can add team members by doing any of the following:

  • clicking on the yellow “+ Make an Update” button  or the yellow “+” button (if using a mobile there). And then following the simple steps from there. These staps are the same as during the registration process;  OR
  • accessing the “Team” section in the Child Space and clicking on the “+Invite a team member” button. And then following the simple steps from there. These staps are the same as during the registration process

When a person is invited to join a team:

  • if they are not already registered with Dalza, they will receive an email from Dalza at the email address given by the Team Organiser. They can accept the invitation by clicking on the link in the email invitation and follow the registration steps from there;
  • if they are already registered with Dalza, they will receive an email from Dalza at the email address given by the Team Organiser AND they will also be notified on the invitation inside their Dalza account. They can accept the invitation by clicking on the link in the email, OR by accepting the invitation inside their account on Dalza.

If you are a Team Organiser, it is important that before you send an invitation to a person that you have their consent to be invited.  Even though a person may be listed on the Dalza database of specialists and teachers, you should only contact them or send them an invitation if they have agreed to be invited or contacted. Our database is only there to make it easier for you to send them invitations where they have consented.

Is a person obliged to join a child’s team ?

No, a person is not obliged to join a team or to accept an invitation.  A person is also able to leave a child’s team at any time after accepting an invitation.

Can a person leave a child’s team ?

Yes, a person can leave a child’s team at any time. They can elect to do this themselves through their Dalza account, or the Team Organiser can remove them from the child’s team.

How do I remove people from my child’s team ?

Removing people from your child’s team is quick and easy.  The Team Organiser can remove a person from the child’s team at any time through the following steps:

  • access the “Team” section in the Child Space;
  • clicking on the name of the team member you want to remove;
  • the profile of the team member will appear and you should click on the red button that says “Remove from the team”;
  • you will be asked to confirm the choice of removing the person from the team before they are finally removed.

How do I leave a child’s team ?

You can leave a child’s team at any time.  You can do this by logging into your account on Dalza and clicking on the hello@dalza.com.

When you deregister your account on Dalza, you will automatically be removed from all teams of which you are a member.

Can more than one person be a Team Organiser on a child’s team ?

No, currently only one person can perform the role of the Team Organiser. The person that registers the child on Dalza is the Team Organiser. This person must be the parent (or legal guardian) of the child.  The other parent/s or legal guardian/s can still be team members and be invited to the Child Space by the Team Organiser.

Can a person be a Team Organiser on more than one child’s team ?

Yes, a person can be the Team Organiser on more then one child’s team.   If the person is the parent or legal guardian of each child and registers each child, then they will be the Team Organiser for each child.

The ability to register more than one child will be available from February 2024.

Can I change the Team Organiser of a child’s team?

It is not currently possible to change the Team Organiser. The parent (or legal guardian) that registers the child on Dalza will always be the Team Organiser.

My child’s school, teacher or therapist does not want to use Dalza, what do I do ?

Your child’s school, teachers and therapists do not need to be users of Dalza in order for you and your child to enjoy the benefits of Dalza.

We have designed Dalza so that even if your child’s school, teachers or therapists do not use Dalza, you can still use every feature and get tremendous value from using Dalza for your own support of your child.

Just for example, all the information recording, file and document storage, tracking and monitoring, and resources features can still be fully used and enjoyed by you on your own.

You can also add the other people involved in supporting your child as team members, such as the other parent, carers, family and friends. And they will also be able to use Dalza to support your child and to work as a team.

If you would like your child’s school, teacher or therapist to use Dalza, just let us know and we will help you get them registered.

Child information

How does Dalza handle the child’s information ?

Our highest priority is protecting the child’s information and there is nothing we take more seriously than this. We place the child at the centre of everything we do and strive to ensure we create a trustful environment for the whole team.

Not only do we comply with all applicable laws, and implement privacy by design and default in how we operate Dalza,  we give the parent (Team Organiser) full control over the information that is made available on Dalza, which team members can see that information, and what access rights they have. The Team Organiser is also able to change these team members and the permissions at any time.

And Dalza never, ever sells the information to other people.

Find out more about our approach to privacy and data protection on our website here , in our Terms of Use , and also in our Privacy Notice .

Our Privacy Notice also contains detailed information about your rights relating to your child’s information.

If you have any specific questions about our approach to privacy or data protection, you can also contact us at privacy@dalza.com.

Who has access to information about the child ?

The parent that registers the child on Dalza (the Team Organiser)  decides who has access to information about the child and what can be done with it. The Team Organiser takes responsibility for adding and removing team members, and setting access rights that are appropriate for them and their child.

The Team Organiser is able to set the permissions and access rights of each member of the team individually and can also set access rights and permissions for specific documents, feedback and sections of the Child Space.

The Team Organiser can also adjust and update these permissions and access rights at any time, and remove information at any time.

 So the team can rest assured that the parent is happy with what has been shared and with what the team member is allowed to do in the Child Space.

NOTE: All team members always have access to the information in the “About” section of the Child Profile. But do not have access to other sections of the Child Profile where the Team Organiser has not given permission.

For more information on Dalza’s approach to Privacy and Data Protection, see our website here , our Terms of Use, and our Privacy Notice.
